Kāinga Ora has completed a major enterprise cloud migration, moving its core enterprise e-Business Suite and tenancy management systems from on-premise infrastructure to the sovereign TEAM Cloud platform – a New Zealand-owned and operated cloud environment powered by Oracle. The migration was delivered in partnership with Cognizant and concluded in late 2025 with minimal service disruption.
This milestone marks a major step forward for Kāinga Ora and its digital infrastructure strategy, unlocking operational efficiencies and the potential for long-term cost benefits.

A Smooth and Strategic Migration
The project involved transitioning core enterprise applications and tenancy management platform used by Kāinga Ora from legacy on-premise systems to the cloud.
Working closely together, the IT team of Kāinga Ora’s, Cognizant specialists, and the TEAM Cloud platform team executed the migration in a phased approach designed to meet the needs of Kāinga Ora, achieving high availability and data integrity throughout.
