TEAM Cloud has many features and aspects that help us provide a range of different options for many different customers. Here are some of the great new features that have recently been introduced into TEAM Cloud.
Exadata Database Service On Exascale And Infrastructure
Exadata Database Service on Exascale Infrastructure (ExaDB-XS) is a great for smaller businesses that aren’t ready to utilise the full-scale options that we provide. Normally on an Exadata infrastructure you would be you are paying for the full database and storage servers, but Exascale (ExaDB-XS) is about paying for only what you’re using and scaling up as time goes on. This shared multi-tenant, elastic server helps provide, lower costs, faster start up and easier capacity management. Exascale (ExaDB-XS) is able to do this while providing the Exadata features with performance optimisations, high availability and security capabilities at pace that works for your business.
“While the largest organisations (e.g.; banks, telcos, government agencies) are able to make a business case stack up for deploying on a dedicated Exadata, for many the entry point cost has just been too high, given the limited data volume requirement.
Exascale technology changes this dynamic. Don’t get mislead by the name Exascale, it means scaling down the size of an Exadata rather than just scaling up (though it can do that too). As such, there is no longer a large entry point to worry about.”Rob Giltrap – Cloud Architect at TEAM Cloud
A few great parts of Exascale (ExaDB-XS) technology is the lower cost, without Exascale, businesses usually need to provision a large amount of dedicated Exadata infrastructure. This works fine for large businesses, Exascale is there for small businesses to get into cloud infrastructure. With the initial lower spend and better alignment of costs with actual usage, this option is about letting businesses pay for what they are actually using rather than paying for surplus storage and memory that doesn’t end up getting used.
Doing all this while providing faster provisioning, without having to wait for dedicated infrastructure allocations, customers can create VM cluster and databases much more quickly. Easier creation of environments so small businesses can begin testing and developing these systems.
This is helping TEAM Cloud provide our sovereign services to not only to big businesses but to small businesses that want to get into a cloud service without having to provide the large costs of excess stages while still getting the great Exadata Database Service while keeping their data safe.
Model Context Protocol Servers
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to external systems and this can be hosted by TEAM Cloud. It is being heralded as the USB Type - C for AI applications, allowing all kind of different AI to interact with complex systems and servers. This will allow for a customised and secure experience for any business both big and small.
"MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open-source standard that defines how AI applications communicate with external systems. It works like a universal language: instead of building a separate connection for each AI tool, MCP provides a single protocol that allows any MCP-compatible AI to talk to any MCP server. On TEAM Cloud, this means Oracle 26AI can connect to your business systems, databases, and applications through MCP servers—without needing custom integrations for each one.
Because MCP servers run on your TEAM Cloud instance alongside Oracle 26AI, your data stays within your sovereign cloud environment. Your business systems, databases, and documents never leave the platform: the AI accesses them through the MCP protocol, but the data remains yours. This also means you can customise exactly which capabilities each MCP server exposes: you decide what Oracle 26AI can read, query, or modify, on a granular basis, without exposing your entire system to the AI model.
Sabyasachi Banerjee - Cloud Architect at TEAM Cloud
An MCP Server is a program that allows many capabilities for an AI client to use these include many different features such as:
- Reading files
- Querying databases
- Accessing APIs
- Searching documentation
- Managing tickets in Jira
- Reading GitHub repositories
- Querying cloud resources
- Running automation workflows
This allows for powerful AI’s to help complete tasks quickly and effectively, as the AI Assistant can connect to the MCP server and discovers what tools are available to it and can invoke them when need.
Before this protocol, when integrating AI into systems they needed to have individual connectors to each different tool that they wanted to connect to. But with MCP servers, when Oracle 26AI is given a task, it connects to your MCP servers and asks: "What tools do you have?" Each server responds with a complete list of its capabilities, such as querying your database, reading files, accessing your enterprise systems, or running workflows. The AI then selects the right tools for the job and invokes them. This means you can add new capabilities to your MCP servers, and Oracle 26AI will immediately know about them, no code changes to the AI model needed.
On TEAM Cloud servers, this means we are able to build a custom experience loading AI models alongside MCP server to help interact with all the applications and data on your server. These AI can be separated from the internet keeping your information secure and safe without contributing to the AI models themselves.
Incredible Developments Working In Tandem
With these new features, they can be used together so as you add more AI models, the server will expand with it to keep up with the new additional models. These both will help take businesses to new heights as managing data has become easier and capabilities scaling as business scales as well. These are not the only features that can be accessed and our team can help build a server for your business that works for you no matter how big or small your business is.
