This past weekend in Auckland, TEAM Cloud New Zealand had the privilege of supporting the Black Foils team at the SailGP event, alongside Oracle, our customers, and partners. It was an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the world’s most advanced and fast-paced sailing competitions.
SailGP is more than just high-speed racing—it is a showcase of cutting-edge technology. Each of the 11 boats in the fleet is equipped with 125 sensors, generating over 3,000 data points per second that capture every aspect of the boat’s performance. This data is streamed live to Oracle Cloud, where it is analysed in near real-time using Oracle Analytics. The insights are then shared with the sailing teams and broadcast partners worldwide, providing them with critical, up-to-the-moment information. This data flow, delivered in just 300 milliseconds, highlights the remarkable speed and efficiency of Oracle Cloud technology.
What’s particularly exciting is that the same Oracle Cloud infrastructure that powers SailGP also supports TEAM Cloud New Zealand. TEAM Cloud is New Zealand’s sovereign hyperscale cloud, owned and operated by TEAM IM ANZ and powered by Oracle Cloud.
