We are proud to announce the launch of TEAM Cloud’s second region, Auckland North, which went live today, 22nd November. This milestone marks a major expansion for TEAM Cloud and solidifies our position as New Zealand’s leading hyperscale sovereign cloud provider, powered by Oracle Cloud.
Doubling Our Capacity in Just Four Months
In just four months since the launch of our first region, we have doubled our capacity. The Auckland North region is identical in size to our original region, Auckland West, which went live in August. With this new region in place, TEAM Cloud can now offer enhanced sovereignty and disaster recovery capabilities to organisations, ensuring that data is always secure, compliant, and available within New Zealand.
Sovereign Disaster Recovery and Real-Time Failover
One of the standout features of our second region is the ability to provide Sovereign Disaster Recovery (DR). With Auckland North now live, we can offer real-time failover between our two regions, which are connected with a low-latency link of 0.5m/s.
This means that if any disaster strikes in our first region, we can ensure full organisation continuity by seamlessly transitioning workloads to the Auckland North region. Whether it's backups, restores, or full disaster recovery, customers can now have full confidence that all their data remains within New Zealand's borders.
